Precautions

This medication may not be suitable for certain patients. For instance, it should not be administered to patients with allergies to this medication or those with gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction, or perforation. Additionally, it is contraindicated for patients with prolactin-secreting tumors or those taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, and for patients with heart conduction abnormalities. Women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant should avoid use. This medication contains lactose and is therefore not suitable for patients with lactose intolerance. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to children, the elderly, or patients with weakened kidney or liver function, particularly those with a history of heart disease. Side effects of this medication may include dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, diarrhea, rash, and excessive breast milk secretion. Rarely, serious side effects such as anaphylaxis, cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, and angioedema have been reported. Since it is mainly metabolized in the liver, dosage adjustments are necessary for patients with impaired liver function, and patients with renal failure should also have their dosages and frequency reduced. After taking this medication, drowsiness or dizziness may occur, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. The risk of cardiac arrhythmia necessitates special caution in patients with heart disease or electrolyte imbalances, and immediate consultation with a doctor should be sought if any unusual symptoms occur. This medication can interact with several other drugs; therefore, it is essential to consult with a physician or pharmacist if taking other medications. Particular caution is required when co-administering with drugs that affect the heart or with CYP3A4 inhibitors. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to avoid using this medication, as side effects may occur in nursing infants; consultation with a physician is necessary. In case of overdose, neurological symptoms and cardiac abnormalities may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container, avoiding mixing with other medications.
