Improvement of chronic hepatitis (elevated ALT)
In patients with chronic hepatitis, ALT levels can be persistently elevated. This medication is used to improve liver dysfunction due to chronic hepatitis.
As Bifenildimethylcarboxylate, take 25 to 50 mg orally three times a day. Adjust dosage as needed based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used in certain patients. Persons who are allergic to this drug or any of its components should not take it. Additionally, this medication contains lactose and should not be administered to patients with a genetic disorder that impairs the digestion of lactose. Patients with liver health issues, such as chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis, should use this medication with caution. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rash. These symptoms may improve if allergy medications are taken simultaneously. Transient jaundice may occur, and in such cases, stopping the medication or using jaundice treatment can resolve the symptoms. Occasionally, symptoms of nausea or abdominal bloating may arise, but they usually improve quickly. When taking this medication alongside other medications, attention should be paid to interactions. In particular, taking it with a drug called inosin may improve liver values. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should not take this medication. Older adults may have diminished bodily functions, so they should take a reduced dosage or use it with caution. Liver function test values may temporarily change during the use of this medication, but they return to normal after discontinuation, and symptoms improve upon resuming the medication. This medication should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children and kept sealed in its original container. Transferring it to another container may reduce its effectiveness or pose a risk of misuse.
