This medication is used to treat herpes virus infections, particularly symptoms of blisters such as initial and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores. In other words, this drug helps alleviate the occurrence of blisters on the skin and mucous membranes caused by the herpes virus, thereby improving symptoms. Consequently, it reduces discomfort associated with herpes simplex and aids in faster recovery.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply this medication to the affected area five times a day at approximately 4-hour intervals. Treatment should continue for 5 days, and if not resolved after 5 days, it may be used for an additional 5 days.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients for safety. Individuals who are allergic or hypersensitive to this medication or its components should not use it. Additionally, it should not be administered to breastfeeding women or children. In cases such as patients with weakened immune systems, like those with AIDS or bone marrow transplant patients, caution should be exercised when using this medication.
