Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this medication or have gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, or perforation. Additionally, it may be risky for patients with prolactin-secreting tumors or those taking potent CYP3A4 inhibitors, and patients taking medications that prolong the QTc interval. It should also not be administered to patients with moderate to severe liver dysfunction and to pregnant women or women of childbearing potential. Caution is required in patients with cardiac conduction disorders or electrolyte imbalances, heart failure, and patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. Careful administration is required in children, patients with renal impairment or mild liver dysfunction, older adults, and patients with a history of heart disease, as elderly patients may need dose adjustments due to decreased physiological function. Side effects may include dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, diarrhea, galactorrhea, breast pain, and, rarely, severe allergic reactions or cardiac arrhythmias. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. This medication is primarily metabolized in the liver, so dose adjustment and caution are required for patients with liver damage, and severe renal impairment patients should have their dosage frequency or amount reduced. There are many drug interactions, so particularly when taken with antiarrhythmics, antibiotics, antipsychotic drugs, antidepressants, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, consult a doctor and monitor closely. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication, and in breastfeeding cases, a decision should be made regarding discontinuation of breastfeeding or medication considering the effects on the baby. In case of overdose, there is a risk of neurological symptoms and heart problems, so immediate medical attention is required, and since there is no specific antidote, treatment according to symptoms is necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children in its original container, and care should be taken not to mix it with other drugs.
