Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. While using this medication, severe allergic reactions such as nausea, cold sensation in the limbs, and difficulty breathing may rarely occur. If such symptoms occur, usage should be immediately discontinued, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Additionally, hypersensitivity symptoms such as angioedema or skin rash, itching, and difficulty breathing may appear; if such symptoms arise, the drug should be discontinued. Temporary discomfort such as burning sensation, irritation, redness, itching, photophobia, and blurred vision may occur; if severe symptoms develop, such as keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, immediate discontinuation is necessary. This medication may also cause auditory disturbances or other irritation symptoms. To prevent resistant bacteria from developing, this medication should only be used for the necessary minimum duration based on sensitivity testing. Long-term use can lead to excessive proliferation of non-sensitive strains such as fungi, so long-term usage should be avoided, and if infections recur, another treatment method should be considered. Particularly during trachoma treatment, using it for 8 weeks is recommended, and care should be taken when continuing afterwards. During treatment, contact lenses should be avoided. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Women who are breastfeeding should discontinue breastfeeding or stop using the medication during treatment. It is advisable not to use this drug in infants under 1 year old, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. This medication is for eye use only, and care should be taken not to let the tip of the container touch the eye directly. To prevent contamination, this medication should ideally not be used by more than one person. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. Additionally, it is important not to transfer to another container to maintain quality.
