Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with specific symptoms among those with heart diseases. For example, it should not be administered to patients with severely weakened heart function such as congestive heart failure, those with cardiac rhythm issues, patients with very low blood pressure, or women who are pregnant or likely to become pregnant. Additionally, caution is required for patients who have had allergies to this medication or are taking certain other medications. This drug should be used cautiously in patients with bradycardia, mild cardiac conduction disorders, or impaired liver or kidney function. In particular, patients with severely impaired liver function need to reduce the dosage, and those with diminished kidney function must be carefully monitored. Patients with neuromuscular diseases may also need dosage adjustments when using this medication. While taking this medication, symptoms like decreased heart rate or low blood pressure may occur, so regular electrocardiogram checks are necessary, and if any unusual signs appear, patients should consult their doctor immediately. Additionally, various side effects such as skin rashes, allergic symptoms, digestive disturbances, fatigue, breathlessness, etc., can occur, so caution is warranted. This drug can exacerbate symptoms if suddenly discontinued; therefore, do not stop taking it arbitrarily without medical guidance, and blood pressure and heart condition must be consistently monitored during treatment. This medication may interact with various other drugs; thus, if other medications are being taken, patients must inform their doctor or pharmacist. In particular, when taken with heart-related medications, antihypertensives, anticoagulants, sedatives, antibiotics, and antiviral medications, there may be changes in side effects or efficacy. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to take this medication, and safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18. Elderly patients may experience more side effects due to decreased bodily functions, so caution is needed regarding dosage adjustments. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension, arrhythmias, or coma may occur; thus, it is critical to seek hospital treatment immediately, and since this drug is not removed by hemodialysis, long-term observation is needed. Finally, this medication may slow response times while driving or operating machinery, so extra caution is required, particularly after starting treatment, changing dosages, or when taken with alcohol.
