Treatment of eye inflammation such as conjunctivitis and keratitis
This medication is used for the treatment of ocular inflammatory diseases such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, iritis, cyclitis, and uveitis. It is also effective in treating corneal damage caused by radiation burns, burns, and foreign body intrusion. It is helpful in improving various symptoms of ocular inflammation when used in the form of eye drops and eye ointment.
(Eye ointment) Apply a small amount 1-3 times a day. Gradually reduce to once a day over several days as symptoms improve. Adjust according to symptoms. (Eye drops) Instill 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day. In severe cases, instill 1-2 drops every hour, and reduce as symptoms improve. Adjust according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with untreated bacterial infections or viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva. It should also not be administered to patients with superficial herpes keratitis, fungal eye diseases, untreated parasitic infections, or tuberculous eye diseases. Patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or components of this medication, as well as those with corneal epithelial peeling or ulcers, and patients with glaucoma should avoid use. Care should be taken when administering to infants under 2 years old, particularly for long-term use, as regular eye pressure and vision examinations are required. Long-term use of this medication may result in increased eye pressure or glaucoma, which can cause damage to the optic nerve, decreased vision, or visual field loss. Additionally, symptoms such as herpes keratitis, fungal keratitis, or purulent infections may occur, so if these symptoms appear, use should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Rare side effects from long-term use may also include posterior subcapsular cataracts or keratomalacia. When used on the skin, wound healing may be delayed, and endocrine suppression may occur. This medicine can exacerbate viral or fungal infections, and temporary irritation or burning sensations may occur upon instillation; if these symptoms occur, use should be discontinued. There is also a risk of localized purulent infections occurring near the ear or nose, so caution is advised. Symptoms of infectious diseases can be masked when using this medication; therefore, if an infection is suspected, healthcare professionals should be consulted immediately. It is advisable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant to avoid using this medication, and if breastfeeding, it should be used after consulting with a healthcare professional. It is preferable to avoid using this medication with contact lenses, and if inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, use should be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Temporary blurriness of vision may occur upon instillation; therefore, driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided until vision returns to normal. This medication should only be used for instillation, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the container opening with the eye. When using with other eye drops, a minimum interval of 5 minutes should be maintained, and eye ointment should be administered last. The cap should be tightly closed when not in use, kept away from direct sunlight, and stored in a cool, dry place. It is important to keep this medication out of reach of children and not to transfer it to another container.
