Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who have allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Caution should be exercised when administering to patients with chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis. Side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rash may occur while taking this medication. If these symptoms arise, taking antihistamines may alleviate the symptoms. Occasionally, symptoms of jaundice may appear temporarily; in such cases, discontinuation of the medication or use of jaundice treatment may improve the symptoms. Nausea or abdominal bloating may occur rarely, but they usually resolve quickly. Taking this medication in conjunction with inosine may improve ALT levels indicating liver function. Pregnant, potentially pregnant, or breastfeeding women should not take this medication. Elderly individuals may have reduced physical function and should use with caution or at a reduced dosage. During treatment, liver function test values are generally stable, but liver enzyme levels may rise after discontinuation of the medication. Resuming this medication may improve the levels again. This medication should be stored in a safe place out of the reach of children. Additionally, if the medication is removed from its original container and stored in another, it may lead to misuse or deterioration of the drug's quality, thus it must be kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
