Precautions

This medication should not be taken by pregnant women or women who could become pregnant, as the rhubarb component can contract the uterus and increase the risk of miscarriage or preterm birth. Breastfeeding women should also avoid this medication. Some components of rhubarb can pass into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. Newborns should not take this medication. Individuals who are very weak or have symptoms of chills and diarrhea should also avoid this medication, as their symptoms may worsen. Patients with hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, or swelling, as well as the elderly, should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it may affect existing conditions. If taking other medications, consultation with a professional is also necessary, as drug interactions may occur. Patients with diarrhea or loose stools, those with weak stomachs, or those experiencing loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting should consult a doctor before taking this medication, as symptoms may worsen. If unusual symptoms such as swelling of the face or hands and feet or increased blood pressure occur during use, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a professional. If symptoms such as muscle weakness, limb spasms, or fatigue appear, stop taking the medication and consult healthcare personnel. If side effects like dyspepsia, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rashes, or hives occur, discontinue use immediately. If symptoms do not improve after a few days of taking the medication, stop taking it and consult a professional. For long-term use, consult a doctor or pharmacist, and adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and administration. As the effect of the rhubarb component may vary from person to person, caution is required. Caution should be taken when using with potassium-containing drugs or specific diuretics, as there is a risk of hypokalemia or muscle abnormalities. Long-term use of stimulant laxatives can lead to tolerance and worsen constipation; hence, continuous use for over a week should be avoided. If constipation persists, the underlying cause should be identified and treated. When taking with other herbal medicines, care should be taken to avoid ingredient overlaps, especially with products containing rhubarb. This medication should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and must be stored tightly sealed after use. Keep it in a safe place out of the reach of children, and avoid transferring it to another container, as this may degrade the quality or lead to misuse.
