Adult dose
For rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injuries, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, and psoriatic arthritis, adults should take ibuprofen at a single dose of 10-30mL (200-600mg) orally 3-4 times a day. A maximum of 160mL (3200mg) can be taken in a day. For mild to moderate pain and colds, adults should take a single dose of 10-20mL (200-400mg) orally 3-4 times a day.
Child dose
For juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, children should receive 1.5-2mL (30-40mg/kg/day) per kilogram of body weight divided into 3-4 oral doses per day. Children should take the single dose 3-4 times a day.

This medication is used to relieve pain and inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fever and body aches from colds, lower back pain, menstrual pain, and postoperative pain. It is also effective for ankylosing spondylitis, headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis, and soft tissue injuries such as sprains and strains. Especially, the rectal suppository form is suitable for treating fever in children due to acute upper respiratory infections. This medication helps improve various pain and inflammatory diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

For rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injuries, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, and psoriatic arthritis, adults should take ibuprofen at a single dose of 10-30mL (200-600mg) orally 3-4 times a day. This drug may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol a day, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Moreover, individuals with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should be cautious as prolonged use of this medication may lead to serious cardiovascular problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Those with heart conditions like hypertension or heart failure should also use this drug cautiously, and it is advisable to avoid high-dose use. This medication can cause severe issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations, hence the elderly or those on long-term medication should be particularly careful. Individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disease or severe liver, kidney, or heart dysfunction should not use this drug. Those who have had hypersensitivity reactions to bronchial asthma, aspirin, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should also avoid taking this medication. In the late stages of pregnancy, this drug should not be used as it may affect the fetus. While taking this medication, do not exceed the recommended dosage, and it is safe to avoid taking it with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. For breastfeeding women, this drug can be transferred through breast milk and may cause adverse reactions in the baby, necessitating either stopping breastfeeding or discontinuing the medication. Individuals with blood disorders, bleeding tendencies, or liver or kidney diseases must consult healthcare professionals before using this medication. This drug can interact with other medications, so special care is needed when taken with antihypertensive drugs, lithium, diuretics, anticoagulants, methotrexate, antidepressants, etc. If allergic reactions, skin rashes, breathing difficulties, severe gastrointestinal bleeding symptoms occur during use, stop taking the drug immediately and consult a doctor. This medication should be taken at the minimum dose for the shortest duration possible, and if pain or fever persists or worsens, consult healthcare professionals. In case of overdose, serious side effects such as dizziness, vomiting, liver dysfunction, and kidney failure can occur, so visit a medical institution immediately. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container for safe use.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, breathing difficulties, cold sweats, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, asthma attacks, respiratory disturbances accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, generalized.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Patients undergoing high-dose methotrexate therapy should not take this drug in combination with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Patients taking low-dose aspirin, ACE inhibitors, lithium, furosemide and thiazide diuretics, low-dose methotrexate, coumarin anticoagulants, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors should consult their doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

This drug is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a light-blocking container. Additionally, to maintain the effectiveness of the medication, it is advisable to store it in a cool place at room temperature between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
