Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the rhubarb component can cause contractions of the uterus and congestion in pelvic organs, thus increasing the risk of premature delivery or miscarriage. Breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medicine, as components of rhubarb may be transmitted through breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. It is advised to avoid this medicine during breastfeeding or to stop breastfeeding. Newborns should not take this medicine, and it is also advisable to avoid this medicine for individuals who are significantly weakened or have concomitant symptoms of chills and diarrhea. People with hypertension, heart or kidney diseases, those with edema, and the elderly must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Elderly individuals may require dosage adjustments due to decreased physical functions. Individuals who are taking other medications or have diarrhea, have weak stomachs, or have symptoms such as lack of appetite, nausea, or vomiting should also consult an expert before using this medicine. If side effects occur during use, such as swelling of the face or hands/feet, increased blood pressure, or headaches, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical advice should be sought. Additionally, if symptoms like muscle weakness, spasms, indigestion, or skin rash appear, the use of the medication should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted. If symptoms do not improve after several days, it is important to stop taking the medication and seek medical advice. If this medicine is to be taken long-term, it is absolutely essential to consult an expert, and the prescribed dosage and administration must be strictly followed. Particularly, the bowel movement-promoting effect of the rhubarb component can vary widely between individuals, so caution is required. When taken with potassium-containing medications or certain diuretics, there may be a risk of hypokalemia or muscle disorders, so use should be done carefully. Irritant laxatives should be avoided for more than a week, as tolerance to the medication can develop, worsening constipation and requiring the underlying cause to be identified if daily laxatives are necessary. When taken with other herbal medications, one should be careful of ingredient duplication, particularly with products containing rhubarb. Storage should be in an airtight container to avoid exposure to air and moisture, kept in a cool place away from direct sunlight, and out of reach of children. Transferring the medicine from the original container to another can lead to misuse or loss of quality and should be avoided.
