Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients who are allergic to quinolone antibiotics or have a history of hypersensitivity. Severe allergic reactions may occur rarely, presenting symptoms such as nausea, coldness in the limbs, and breathing difficulties; if these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Various hypersensitivity reactions may occur, such as arrhythmia, angioedema, airway obstruction, skin rash, itching, and eye redness; if these symptoms arise, you must stop using the medication. Temporary stinging, discomfort, redness, itching, foreign body sensation, and blurred vision may occur in the eyes. Moreover, serious skin conditions like severe keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome could develop, so discontinue use immediately if abnormal symptoms appear. There may also be auditory disturbances or irritation symptoms, hence caution is needed. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, this medicine should only be used for the minimum duration needed after confirming susceptibility to the infection-causing bacteria. Prolonged use may lead to excessive proliferation of non-susceptible microbes such as fungi, so long-term use should be avoided, and alternative treatments should be considered if recurrent infections occur. In particular, during trachoma treatment, administration should be based on an 8-week course; thereafter, the decision to continue treatment should be made cautiously. It is advisable to avoid wearing soft contact lenses during treatment. For pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, this medication's safety has not been established; it should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks. If breastfeeding, either discontinue breastfeeding or stop using the medication. Safety and efficacy in infants under 1 year have not been established, so it is best to avoid use in this age group. This drug must be strictly used for ocular application, ensuring that the tip of the container does not touch the eye directly. To prevent contamination, it is safer not to share with others. While storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it in a cool, dry place. Also, to maintain quality, do not transfer it to another container.
