Adult dose

Adults: Administer the following doses orally as calcium dobesilate. 1. Vascular damage and retinopathy: 500-1000mg daily 2. Venous disease: Administer 750mg daily for 1-3 weeks, then 500mg daily. Take after meals with plenty of fluids. Dosage may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to this drug or its ingredients. Additionally, because it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic diseases that prevent the digestion of lactose. Caution is required in patients with decreased renal function as excretion of this medication may be difficult, and especially in severe renal failure patients, the dosage may need to be reduced. It should be used cautiously in patients with impaired liver function, and if liver enzyme levels rise, the benefits and risks of treatment should be re-evaluated. This medication contains sodium bisulfite, which can cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks, so patients with asthma or hypersensitivity to sulfites should be careful. During administration, symptoms such as headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, arthralgia, and myalgia may occur, and if these symptoms worsen, it is advised to consult a physician. Rarely, blood-related adverse reactions may occur, so if there are symptoms of high fever or frequent infections, it is important to inform a physician immediately and get a blood test if necessary. If a severe allergic reaction occurs, this medication should be discontinued immediately and medical assistance should be sought. The effects of this medication on driving or operating machinery are unknown, so caution is warranted. It is advisable to avoid using this medication during pregnancy, and during breastfeeding, as it is excreted in small amounts in breast milk, it is preferable to discontinue either the medication or breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been adequately studied, so caution should be exercised when administering to children. There are no specific precautions for the elderly, but consideration should be given to general health status when using. This medication may affect certain clinical test results, so it is advisable to conduct necessary tests beforehand.
