Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), relief of fever and pain
Oral medications are used for joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis, as well as for fever and body aches caused by colds, low back pain, dysmenorrhea, and postoperative pain relief. They are also effective for ankylosing spondylitis, headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis, soft tissue injuries, and non-articular rheumatic diseases. Rectal formulations are used for the treatment of fever due to acute upper respiratory tract infections in children.
Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue injury, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis: 200-600 mg per dose, taken orally 3-4 times a day, with a maximum of 3200 mg per day. For mild to moderate pain and colds: 200-400 mg per dose, taken orally 3-4 times a day. Adjust according to age and symptoms.
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis: Administer 30-40 mg per kg of body weight divided into 3-4 doses daily. For oral administration in children: do not exceed 500 mg (25 mL) daily for those weighing less than 30 kg.
This medication can pose a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who consume large amounts of alcohol daily, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential. Additionally, this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease in individuals with heart or vascular problems or risk factors, as well as in those who take it for extended periods. Individuals with ulcers or bleeding in the stomach, severe liver, kidney, or heart conditions, and those with known allergies or a history of asthma should not take this medication. It is important not to exceed the recommended dosage while taking this medication and to avoid using it in combination with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Pregnant women in their third trimester should avoid this medication as it may harm the fetus. If symptoms such as allergic reactions, severe skin rashes, respiratory difficulties, bleeding, or liver function abnormalities occur during use, the medication should be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be sought. This medication may increase blood pressure or exacerbate existing hypertension, so patients with high blood pressure should check their blood pressure regularly and use it cautiously. When taking this medication for an extended period, regular blood tests and liver function tests are advisable, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, usage should be stopped. Children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses should always consult a healthcare professional before use to ensure safe administration. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, kept in its original container, and not transferred into other containers.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin sloughing, mucosal pain in the mouth/eyes, severe skin reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough with fever along with respiratory difficulties, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), extreme fatigue, liver dysfunction (jaundice), sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headache, seizures.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
Do not take this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, low-dose aspirin, or high doses of methotrexate. Consult with a doctor or pharmacist if taking with ACE inhibitors, lithium, furosemide and thiazide diuretics, coumarin anticoagulants (such as warfarin), or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. The storage temperature should be maintained between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. Proper storage can help maintain the medication's efficacy and safety for an extended period.
