Precautions

This medication is in the form of an ampule injection, and great care should be taken when cutting the container as glass fragments may mix in. Extra caution is needed especially when used in children and the elderly. This medication should not be administered to patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, storage dehydration, methanol intoxication, or those who are allergic to this medication. It should be used with caution in patients with diabetes insipidus, fructosuria, hyperuricemia, olfactory hypersensitivity, shock states, or liver or kidney diseases. Overdosing this medication may cause sweating or facial redness, and rapid administration may lead to electrolyte imbalance, so caution is advised. The elderly may have reduced body functions, so it should be administered more cautiously. Large doses given subcutaneously may cause circulatory failure due to electrolyte shifts in the blood, so subcutaneous injections should be avoided. Before administration, the patient’s skin and injection equipment should be thoroughly disinfected, and in winter, the medication should be warmed to body temperature before use. Any unused medication post-opening should be discarded. When administering, it should be injected slowly into the vein. If there are droplets inside the packaging or if the solution is discolored or turbid, it should not be used. Rapid large doses of fructose may cause lactic acidosis, hyperuricemia, thrombophlebitis, and discomfort or pain in the chest or abdominal area, so caution is advised.
