This medicine is used to improve encephalopathy caused by acute or chronic liver dysfunction. It also replenishes the amino acids necessary for patients with impaired liver function, assisting overall liver health. It plays a role in alleviating symptoms related to liver dysfunction and contributing to the recovery of liver function. Therefore, this medication is effective in improving encephalopathy symptoms and nutritional supplementation in liver disease patients.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Adults should receive intravenous drip infusion at a maximum dosage of 1 to 1.5 g of total amino acids per day per kg of body weight. The infusion rate should ideally be 10 g of total amino acids over 60 minutes, with a principle of infusing 30 to 40 drops per minute.

Children's dosage

Children should be administered with careful adjustment of dosage and infusion rate.

Precautions

This medication must be used strictly according to a doctor's instructions. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment or high blood nitrogen levels. Patients with amino acid metabolism disorders other than liver dysfunction should also avoid using this medication. It should not be administered to patients with metabolic disorders related to nitrogen utilization, cachexia, or pulmonary edema. Patients who excrete very little or no urine and those with hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, or alkalosis should also avoid this medication. Patients with atrioventricular block or severe myasthenia gravis should take special care when magnesium components are included. This medication should also be avoided in patients who are excessively supplied with fluids. For patients with severe acidosis, heart failure, edema, or hyperkalemia, careful administration is required. Caution is also necessary for patients with impaired renal function. This medication contains ingredients that may cause allergies, so special care should be taken for asthma patients, and if any allergic reactions occur, administration should be stopped immediately. Various side effects such as nausea, vomiting, palpitations, and increased blood pressure may occur when using this medication, so if any unusual symptoms arise, it is important to consult a doctor. Rapid administration of a large volume may lead to acidosis, so it is crucial to administer slowly. Patients with liver and kidney dysfunction may experience elevated specific blood levels, so regular checks are necessary. Interactions may occur when using this medication with other drugs, so it is essential to inform about any other medications being taken. Safety for pregnant women has not been established, so it should only be administered when absolutely necessary, and for children, a lower concentration should be used while frequently checking blood ammonia levels. Elderly patients may have reduced body function, so the administration rate should be slower, and dosage should be adjusted. This medication contains electrolytes, so care should be taken regarding electrolyte balance during large volume administration. The temperature during preparation should be adjusted to body temperature and should be prepared in a sterile condition. Before use, do not use if the solution is discolored or abnormal, and during storage, it should be kept sealed and according to specified methods.
