How to take

Adult dose

As Biphenyl Dimethyl Dicarboxylate, take 25 to 50 mg by mouth three times a day. Adjust according to symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients. Furthermore, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to individuals with genetic disorders that impair lactose digestion, such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, and glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with liver diseases such as chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis should be particularly cautious when using this medication. Side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rash may occur while taking this medication, and these symptoms can be alleviated by using antihistamines together. Transient jaundice symptoms may appear; however, stopping the medication or taking jaundice treatment agents will resolve these symptoms. Rarely, nausea or abdominal bloating may occur but usually resolves quickly. This medication may improve liver enzyme levels when taken with Inosine. It is safer for pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding women not to use this medication. Elderly patients may have diminished physical function and should use caution in adjusting the dosage. While there are few cases of liver enzyme levels rising again during treatment, they may increase after stopping the medication, but will improve again upon re-administration. This medication must be kept in a safe place out of reach of children and should be stored tightly in its original container. Transferring to another container may pose a risk of reduced medication quality or misuse, so caution is advised.
