How to take

Adult dose

For essential hypertension (mild to moderate), angina pectoris, and tachyarrhythmia: Adults: Administer arotinolol hydrochloride 10㎎ per dose twice daily orally. If the effect is insufficient, the dose may be increased to 30㎎ per day. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to age and symptoms. For essential tremor: Adults: Start with arotinolol hydrochloride 10mg per day. If the effect is insufficient, administer 20mg per day as the maintenance dose in 2 divided oral doses. Precautions

This drug should not be used in individuals with excessively slow heart rates or those with cardiac conduction issues. Caution is required in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis or metabolic acidosis, as heart function may be further weakened. It should be avoided in patients with bronchial asthma or those who have a tendency for bronchial constriction, as the risk of bronchospasm may increase. Patients with cardiogenic shock or those with right heart failure due to pulmonary hypertension, as well as patients with congestive heart failure, should also refrain from using this medication. It is safer for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant to avoid this medication. Patients at risk for congestive heart failure should be carefully monitored while using this drug. Diabetic patients experiencing difficulty managing blood sugar or with symptoms of hypoglycemia should carefully monitor their blood sugar levels, as this drug can mask hypoglycemic symptoms. Patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, and those with impaired blood circulation in the limbs should also use this drug with caution. In older adults, starting with a lower dose is important as cardiac function may be weaker, and their condition should be closely monitored. Regular checks of cardiac function and monitoring of blood pressure and pulse are necessary when using this medication long-term, and the dosage can be reduced or stopped if side effects develop. In particular, suddenly discontinuing the medication may worsen symptoms of heart disease, so it should be gradually tapered off according to a doctor’s instructions. It is advisable to stop this drug at least 48 hours before surgery, and patients with certain hormone-related conditions should use this drug in conjunction with other medications. This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so caution is needed when driving or operating dangerous machinery. There may be interactions when used with other antihypertensives, hypoglycemic agents, or heart medications, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. It is recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women do not use this medication, and its safety has not been sufficiently verified in children.
