Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, it may be dangerous for patients allergic to its ingredients or those with gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. Additionally, patients with prolactin-secreting tumors or those taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or medications that prolong the QTc interval should not use this drug. Patients with moderate to severe liver impairment, pregnant women, or women who may become pregnant, and patients with heart conduction anomalies or electrolyte imbalances or heart disease should also avoid use. It is also unsuitable for patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders. This medication should be used cautiously in children, patients with renal impairment, mild liver impairment, elderly patients, and those with a history of heart disease. In particular, elderly patients may require dosage adjustments due to decreased bodily function. Side effects such as dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, diarrhea, rash, and excessive milk secretion may occur while taking this medication. Additionally, serious adverse reactions such as cardiac arrhythmias, allergic reactions, seizures, dizziness, and depression may occur infrequently, thus caution is required. This medication is primarily metabolized in the liver, so patients with liver damage require dose adjustments and careful monitoring, and patients with severely reduced kidney function should also reduce their dosage. Patients with a history of breast cancer should use it cautiously due to the potential for prolactin secretion stimulation. Since drowsiness or dizziness may occur after taking this medication, caution should be exercised during activities requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with several drugs, so it is crucial to consult a physician, especially when combined with medications that affect the heart or those involved in liver metabolism. When taken with antacids or proton pump inhibitors, absorption may decrease, so attention should be paid to the timing of administration. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised not to use this medication, and while breastfeeding, caution is needed as the baby may experience side effects such as heart problems. In case of overdose, neurological symptoms and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias may arise, necessitating immediate medical assistance, and as there is no specific antidote, treatment and observation are important. This medication is not suitable for children, especially for those weighing less than 35kg, and particular attention is needed for infants under 1 year old. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container for safety. Also, care must be taken when compounding with other medications to avoid discoloration and other issues.
