This medication is used for various inflammatory diseases occurring in the eye and its surrounding area. The 0.02% eye drops are effective for the treatment of external inflammatory conditions such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, and episcleritis. The 0.1% eye drops are used not only for external conditions but also for improving symptoms of intraocular inflammation such as iritis, iridocyclitis, and uveitis, as well as inflammation following surgery. These eye drops help alleviate eye inflammation and prevent infections. Depending on the patient's condition, an appropriate concentration of the product is selected for safe and effective treatment. Therefore, this medication is widely used for treating inflammatory diseases of the eye.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

1 to 2 drops at a time, instilled 2 to 4 times a day. Adjust as necessary depending on symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug should also avoid treatment. It is generally not used in patients with corneal epithelial detachment or ulcers, tuberculosis-related or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, or infants under 2 years of age, but if it must be used, it should be administered very cautiously. Prolonged use may lead to serious side effects such as increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, and optic nerve damage, so regular intraocular pressure checks are necessary. As it contains corticosteroids, the risk of infections such as herpes simplex keratitis, fungal keratitis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections may increase, and appropriate treatment is needed in case of infection. Long-term use can also increase the risk of posterior capsule cataract or secondary infections. In cases of acute purulent eye infections, this medication may obscure or worsen symptoms, so caution is required. The vision may temporarily become blurry during instillation, therefore driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses before using the medication and wait at least 30 minutes after instillation before reinserting them. Infected with chickenpox or measles, the use of this medication may result in fatal outcomes, so the patient's medical history and vaccination status should be confirmed, and if infection is suspected or occurs, immediate medical attention should be sought. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid long-term or frequent use of this medication, and breastfeeding mothers should not use it as a principle. This medication is for topical use only, and care should be taken to prevent the tip of the container from coming into direct contact with the eye. Opened single-use products should be used immediately and any remaining contents should be discarded, and shared use should be avoided. When storing, keep it in a cool, dry place out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight. Transferring this medication to another container may cause contamination or degradation in quality, so it must be stored in its original container.
