Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals with allergies to this medication or its components should not use it. Patients with thyroid dysfunction, especially those with nodular goiter or Hashimoto's thyroiditis, should not use it. It is also advisable for patients with impaired kidney function or renal failure not to use this medication. This medication should not be used in newborns and infants under 6 months of age. Individuals with herpetic dermatitis or those undergoing radioactive iodine treatment should also refrain from using it. Particular caution should be exercised when using this medication in critically ill patients or burn victims, individuals with a history of thyroid disease, or those with a history of renal failure. This medication can rarely cause allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as breathing difficulties or hives occur, use should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms such as pain, itching, rash, and redness on the skin may arise, and in severe cases, skin ulcers or contact dermatitis may develop, necessitating cessation of use if symptoms worsen. Excessive use can cause electrolyte imbalance, metabolic abnormalities, or kidney dysfunction. Long-term use may lead to changes in thyroid function, requiring careful monitoring. Large quantities or prolonged contact may lead to sensations of burning or pain in the mouth and throat, eye irritation, skin reactions, digestive issues, and other concerns, so caution is necessary. If used just before childbirth, the newborn's eyes should be washed promptly and bathed to ensure no residue of the drug remains. If therapeutic effects are absent, surgical intervention should be considered, and since this medication may affect thyroid testing, it is advisable to interval the administration and testing by 1-2 weeks. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid prolonged or extensive use of this medication, as it may impact the thyroid function of the fetus or newborn. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. This medication should not be mixed with other drugs, and the affected area should be thoroughly washed before application. Store in a tightly sealed container that blocks light, and since it may corrode in metal containers, it should be stored in appropriate containers. Overdosage can lead to symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, dizziness, and even coma, necessitating immediate medical assistance. When using this medication, instructions from a physician or pharmacist should be strictly followed, and any side effects or unusual symptoms should be reported immediately for appropriate treatment.
