Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis or conjunctivitis, fungal eye diseases, or mycobacterial infections. Additionally, patients with chronic blepharitis or hypersensitivity to this drug should also avoid its use. It is generally not used in patients with corneal epithelial erosion or ulcers, tuberculosis or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years of age; however, if necessary, it should be used with extreme caution. Prolonged use may lead to increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, optic nerve damage, and vision loss, so regular eye pressure checks are required. There is also an increased risk of infections such as herpes keratitis, fungal infections, and Pseudomonas infections, so any symptoms of infection must be treated immediately. Long-term use may increase the risk of cataracts or secondary eye infections. In cases of acute suppurative endophthalmitis, symptoms may be masked or worsened, so caution is necessary. Using this medication can cause side effects such as inflammation, pain, conjunctival hyperemia, cycloplegia, and ptosis. Furthermore, wound healing after cataract surgery may be delayed, and long-term use may suppress systemic hormonal functions. If hypersensitivity symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately, and because this drug contains phosphate components, calcification of the cornea may rarely occur in patients with severe corneal damage. Using this medication on red eyes without a doctor's diagnosis carries the risk of blindness, so consultation with a specialist is essential. Patients with a history of simple herpes require careful monitoring, and regular eye pressure checks are mandatory for long-term use exceeding 10 days. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, the administration should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. If wearing contact lenses, they must be removed before using this medication and can only be reapplied after at least 30 minutes. Vision may be temporarily blurred upon application, so driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided until vision returns to normal. During the use of this medication, serious complications can arise from infections such as chickenpox or measles, so vaccination history and risk of infection should be thoroughly checked to minimize exposure. Particular caution is needed for children and patients taking certain medications, as systemic side effects may occur. This drug may increase systemic exposure when used with certain medications, raising the risk of side effects, so it should only be used in combination under a doctor's guidance. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid long-term or frequent use, and nursing mothers are advised against using this medication; if necessary, breastfeeding should be suspended. Safety in infants and children has not been established, so this medication should be used carefully. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, so extra caution is necessary when using this drug. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care must be taken to ensure the tip of the container does not come into direct contact with the eye. Before use, it should be shaken well, and to prevent contamination, it is advisable not to share the medication with others. Keep this medication out of reach of children, stored in a cool and dry place, and protected from direct sunlight. Also, to maintain quality, it should not be transferred to another container.
