Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis or conjunctivitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Additionally, patients who are hypersensitive to this drug should not receive it. Patients with corneal epithelial defects or ulcers, tuberculous or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and children under 2 years old should generally not use this medication, and if it is necessary, it should be used with caution. Long-term use of this medication may increase intraocular pressure, potentially leading to glaucoma; therefore, regular eye pressure checks are required. Furthermore, there may be occurrences of herpes keratitis, fungal infections, or Pseudomonas infections, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, treatment should be sought immediately. Caution is needed when using this medication for corneal ulcers or injuries, as it can risk corneal perforation, and cataract formation may rarely occur. Extended use may weaken immunity, increasing the risk of secondary eye infections. When acute purulent eye infections are present, this medication can mask symptoms or worsen the condition, thus caution is advised during use. Moreover, if inflammation or pain in the eye persists or worsens for over 48 hours, use should be stopped immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. If wearing contact lenses, the lenses should be removed before instillation and should not be worn again for at least 30 minutes after administration. Temporary blurriness may occur upon application, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Severe complications may arise if infected with chickenpox or measles while using this medication; therefore, it is essential to verify the patient's past medical history and vaccination status and to monitor closely to prevent infections. Care should be taken especially when the medication is used long-term or in intensive treatment for children and patients taking certain medications, as they are at a higher risk for systemic side effects. Combining this medication with certain drugs may increase the risk of systemic side effects; thus, careful observation should be maintained when used in combination, following a doctor's instructions. It is advisable not to use this medication frequently or for long periods in pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and if used while breastfeeding, it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding if it is unavoidable to use this drug. Caution is particularly important for children and elderly patients, as the safety of this medication has not been sufficiently established. This medication is for topical use only and should be kept from direct contact with the eye. Shake well before use, and it is advisable to avoid sharing to prevent contamination. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it in a cool, dry place. Transferring it to another container may lead to misuse or degradation of quality, so it should be kept in its original container.
