Dosage

(Gel)(Ointment)(Cream) Adults apply 1g (about 3cm) to the affected area 3-4 times a day, gently rubbing until well absorbed. (Patch) Attach one patch to the affected area every two days. However, if bathing or showering or excessive sweating occurs, one patch may be applied each day. Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly. After removing the release paper from the medication side, firmly attach it to the skin and press down with the palm of your hand. Especially for the patch

Precautions

This medication is an anti-inflammatory analgesic containing the ingredient piroxicam, used to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. This medication should not be used in the following cases: First, do not take it if you have had an allergic reaction to this medication or other piroxicam formulations. Additionally, individuals with a history of asthma attacks triggered by aspirin (known as aspirin-induced asthma) may experience severe asthma attacks and should avoid this medication. It is also safe to avoid this medication for those who have previously experienced hives, rhinitis, or angioedema from aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Moreover, children under the age of 14 should not take this medication. Patients with bronchial asthma should be especially cautious when using this medication. Those with allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to the propylene glycol component in this medication should also use it with caution. When using this medication, symptoms such as itching, redness, rash, eczema, dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and erythema may occur, and, rarely, a reaction of hypersensitivity to sunlight may also occur. If these symptoms worsen, use should be discontinued immediately. Prolonged or excessive use may result in symptoms like nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, shortness of breath, or renal function decline, hence caution is necessary. It is important to remember that this medication is not a fundamental treatment that completely cures inflammation or pain, but rather a medication that helps alleviate symptoms. Additionally, if this medication is used on inflamed areas with accompanying skin infections, it should be combined with appropriate antibacterial or antifungal agents to ensure the infection does not worsen, and the patient's condition should be closely monitored. When used for chronic diseases such as chronic arthritis, other treatment methods should also be considered alongside this medication, with careful observation for any side effects. During pregnancy, especially in the last three months, this medication should not be used due to the risk of delayed delivery, bleeding, fetal heart and lung issues, and decreased renal function. While no significant problems were found in animal studies during early to mid-pregnancy, its safety in humans is not certain, so it should be used with caution. Furthermore, this medication is excreted in small amounts through breast milk, so it is advisable for breastfeeding women not to take this medication. Use is not recommended for premature infants, newborns, infants, and children as adequate safety has not been established. Elderly patients may experience side effects more easily, so it should be administered cautiously at the minimum effective dose. Finally, this medication should not be applied to wounds or infected skin, eczema, bleeding skin diseases, burns, or the eyes or mucous membranes, and it should not be used with occlusive dressings. Caution should be taken as temporary irritation may occur if there is skin damage.
