Detoxification treatment for severe liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy)
This medication is used to treat hepatic encephalopathy symptoms resulting from severe liver disease, from pre-comatose states to comatose states. It improves the condition where toxic substances accumulate in the brain due to significantly reduced liver function, helping to restore consciousness and stabilize overall brain function. Therefore, it is effective in improving brain function and alleviating symptoms in patients with severe liver disease.
For hepatic encephalopathy (including pre-comatose and comatose states), L-Aspartic Acid-L-Ornithine can be mixed into an appropriate infusion solution to be administered as an intravenous drip at a maximum dosage of 40 g (8 ampoules) per day. Adjust according to symptoms as appropriate.
This medication is in the form of a glass ampoule injection, so great care must be taken to avoid glass fragments when using it. Special caution is required when using it on children or the elderly. This medication should not be administered to patients with certain conditions. For example, patients with lactic acidosis, methanol poisoning, fructose-sorbitol intolerance, specific enzyme deficiencies, and severe renal dysfunction should avoid use. Additionally, this medication contains sulfite components, which may cause allergic reactions. Caution is especially needed for asthma patients as they may have heightened sensitivity to sulfites. When using this medication, you may occasionally feel warmth at the back of the head or experience nausea, and gastrointestinal discomfort or vomiting may occur. If a high dose is administered, blood or urine urea levels should be monitored to assess the body condition. Patients with poor liver function should adjust the infusion speed to reduce discomfort. This medication should be administered slowly by intravenous injection, and care should be taken to avoid rapid infusion. Finally, it should be stored out of the reach of children, and the medication should not be transferred to another container from its original package. This helps maintain the quality of the medication and prevents accidents.
