Treatment of bacterial and fungal infections, and corticosteroid responsive skin diseases (allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, etc.)
This medication is used for various skin diseases suspected of bacterial or fungal infections or at risk of infection, such as allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, lichen simplex chronicus (neurogenic dermatitis), and other corticosteroid responsive skin diseases.
Apply a suitable amount gently on the affected area and its surroundings twice a day, in the morning and evening.
This medication should not be used on wounds or mucous membranes. Should it be used in patients with infections of the skin caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals, symptoms may worsen, so it should be avoided. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components should not use it. Patients with eczematous external otitis with a perforated eardrum should avoid use, as healing may be delayed. In patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, the skin regeneration may be suppressed, resulting in delayed healing, so it is recommended not to use. Patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea should avoid the use of this medication. Patients with hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin should be cautious. Patients allergic to imidazole antibiotics should also use this medication with caution. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should use this medication cautiously. Children should use this medication under adult supervision, and caution is required in those allergic to propylene glycol. As infections may develop on the skin, use should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted if symptoms occur. If skin reactions such as folliculitis, skin irritation, rash, or itching occur, use should be discontinued. With long-term use, side effects such as skin thinning or vascular dilation may occur, necessitating a reduction in dosage or a change to another medication. Prolonged or widespread use of this medication under occlusive dressings may have systemic effects, so caution is advised. When applied around the eyes, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, so care should be taken, and if symptoms such as blurred vision occur, a doctor should be notified immediately. If resistance to this medication occurs or the infection worsens, use should be discontinued. Long-term use may lead to renal impairment or hearing loss, so it is advisable to avoid it. The prescribed dosage and administration should be strictly adhered to, and use should be stopped as soon as symptoms improve. Children should be used with particular caution, and occlusive dressings should not be used without a doctor's guidance. When using on the face or genital areas, the risk of side effects is high, so use should be avoided for more than one week. The use of this medication may result in local steroid withdrawal syndrome, so care should be taken with sudden withdrawal after prolonged use. Pregnant women should use this medication only on the smallest area for the shortest time possible due to the risk of malformations. Nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously since it may be transmitted through breast milk, and its effects on nursing infants should be considered. Children have a larger skin surface area relative to their weight, hence the risk of side effects is higher, and thus special attention is necessary. Care should be taken when using diapers as an occlusive dressing effect may occur. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water, and if symptoms are severe, seek ophthalmic treatment. This medication should not be used on areas not intended for treatment, such as after makeup or shaving.
