This medication is primarily used for loss of appetite.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 2 tablets twice a day, before breakfast and dinner, for 8 days. After that, take 4 tablets twice a day, before breakfast and dinner.

Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down in the body into phenylalanine. Therefore, patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria should not take this drug. Patients with glaucoma, those allergic to this medication or any of its ingredients, individuals with urinary retention issues, the elderly or frail individuals, and newborns should not take this medication. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance, galactose intolerance, or hereditary carbohydrate absorption disorders should not take it. Patients with glaucoma or urinary retention issues, those with hyperchloremic acidosis, and individuals with impaired kidney function should consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. If dizziness, nausea, skin rash, fatigue, mental confusion, or decreased appetite occurs while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Furthermore, excessive dosage may lead to motor control disorders, blood abnormalities, reduced plasma potassium, hives, and acne, so caution is advised. Sensitive patients may experience drowsiness, and rarely, headaches or thirst. Metabolic acidosis may also occur, so caution is necessary. This medication contains coloring agent Yellow No. 5; therefore, caution is required if one is allergic to this ingredient. Exercise care when driving or operating machinery due to potential drowsiness or dizziness caused by this medication. Lastly, this medication's effectiveness may be enhanced when taken with MAO inhibitors, alcohol, or central nervous system depressants, so it should not be combined with these substances.
