Adult dosage
The initial dose of trazodone hydrochloride is 150 mg orally per day, increasing by 50 mg every 3 to 4 days. Outpatients should not exceed 400 mg per day, while inpatients (with severe depression) should not exceed 600 mg per day. Start with a low dose and gradually increase while monitoring for clinical response and intolerance. This medication must be taken after meals or snacks. Precautions

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), severe allergic reactions, severe rashes with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the oral/ocular mucosa, severe skin adverse reactions, difficulty breathing, respiratory issues, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), liver issues (jaundice), sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe neurological symptoms, markedly reduced urine output, systemic reactions.
