This medication is used to relieve inflammation caused by chronic exfoliative gingivitis and refractory stomatitis and glossitis accompanied by erosion or ulceration. It effectively reduces oral inflammatory symptoms, improving patient discomfort. It is available in ointment or paste formulations as well as adhesive formulations, making it versatile for various therapeutic situations.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area once daily or several times a day, adjusting as necessary based on age and symptoms.

Children's dosage

Apply 0.025mg of triamcinolone acetonide to the affected mucosa, once a day for 1-2 times depending on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with tuberculosis, viral, fungal, or bacterial infections in the oral cavity. Additionally, patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or a history of allergies should not use it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication with caution as it may affect the fetus, and excessive or prolonged use should be avoided. Caution is required when using this medication in children or adolescents, as long-term use may affect growth. In elderly patients, prolonged use may increase the risk of infections and exacerbate conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, cataracts, and glaucoma, so careful use is necessary. This medication contains the ingredient propylene glycol, and those with allergies to this ingredient should be cautious. If there is an infection in the oral cavity, do not use this medication alone, and use it in conjunction with appropriate antibiotics or antifungals, or discontinue use until the infection is treated. It is recommended not to eat food immediately after using this medication, and there may be a sensation of discomfort or unease at the application site. Long-term use may suppress pituitary or adrenal cortex function, and conditions such as atopic dermatitis, telangiectasia, steroid acne, perioral dermatitis, hirsutism, and candidiasis may occur. Adhesive formulations for oral use should be applied to the oral mucosa and not swallowed; caution is advised as they may not adhere well if the mucosa is too moist. When using this medication in children or the elderly, special attention should be paid to avoid using fingers to detach the medication.
