This medication should be avoided when taken with alcohol or central nervous system depressants, as it can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, coma, and even death, and if co-administration is essential, it should be used at the lowest dose for the shortest duration. Patients who metabolize this medication quickly due to genetic factors may have increased levels of active metabolites in the blood, elevating the risk of respiratory depression; in such cases, dosage adjustment and symptom monitoring are necessary. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years old, adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy, and it is advisable to avoid administration in adolescents aged 12 to 18 with specific risk factors. When using ampoule injections, care should be taken to carefully cut them to avoid glass fragments, particularly when used in children or the elderly. Patients taking morphine concurrently or repeatedly, those with liver dysfunction, gallbladder disease, those who consume alcohol, patients with opioid hypersensitivity, and those with a history of seizures should use this medication cautiously, with dosage adjustments and close monitoring as required. Drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, and other symptoms may occur while taking this medication, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided, and it is best not to use it for minor pain. This medication can interact with various drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication; particularly during breastfeeding, as this medication can be secreted in breast milk and affect the baby. In the case of overdose, serious respiratory depression or seizures may occur, so emergency treatment is needed immediately, and an antidote such as naloxone may be required.
