This medication helps improve gastrointestinal functional abnormalities such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and gastric and duodenal inflammation or ulcers. It also alleviates uncomfortable symptoms caused by irritable bowel syndrome and spasmodic colon. In children, it is used to treat habitual vomiting and constipation and diarrhea due to non-infectious intestinal pain and disorders. Thus, this drug effectively improves various gastrointestinal issues.

How to take

Adult dose

As Trimebutine Maleate, 100-200mg orally 3 times a day before meals. Adjust dose as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication may affect the gastrointestinal tract, and rarely symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders, dry mouth, and oral numbness may occur. It may also affect the cardiovascular system, and rarely symptoms of rapid heartbeat may occur. Even the central nervous system may be affected, and fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may occur rarely. This may influence liver function, thus there is a possibility of elevated liver enzyme levels; caution should be taken regarding liver health. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes may occur, and if such symptoms arise, medication should be discontinued immediately. The safety of this drug during pregnancy is not established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication and it should be used only if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Nursing mothers should also avoid taking this medication if possible, and if it is necessary, it is advisable to stop breastfeeding.
