Treatment of hyperkalemia and heart disease (fluid and energy supply)
This medication is used to provide energy in cases of hyperkalemia, circulatory collapse, and hypoglycemia. It also helps to supply moisture and energy when treating heart disease in conjunction with G, I, K therapy. It is effectively used in cases of drug or poison intoxication. Therefore, it helps to improve electrolyte imbalance or energy deficiency in the blood.
Administer 20 to 500 mL intravenously per dose. The infusion rate should be less than 0.5 g/kg per hour as glucose. An appropriate amount should be used for dissolving and diluting the injection. Adjust according to age and symptoms.
This medication should be handled carefully, especially when used in children or the elderly, as glass shards may mix when opening the ampule. Caution is necessary when administering glucose-containing injections intravenously, as this may increase the consumption of vitamin B1 in the body, potentially leading to fatal deficiency. This medication should not be used in patients with certain conditions such as dehydrated hyperglycemia, excess fluid state, hyperglycemia, acidosis, hypokalemia, hyperosmolar coma, and glucose intolerance. Administering this medication in its hypertonic form may be dangerous for patients with spinal hemorrhage, intracranial hemorrhage, or severe dehydration. Patients with potassium, phosphorus, magnesium deficiencies, poor kidney function, heart failure, severely ill patients, and diabetics should use this medication with caution. Care should be taken to avoid electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, hyperosmolarity, and other side effects when administering in large amounts or at a rapid rate. Long-term use may affect insulin secretion; therefore, insulin should be administered as needed, and blood glucose and electrolyte levels should be checked frequently. During pregnancy, this medication should only be administered if the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus. Children and neonates have poor fluid and electrolyte regulation, so blood glucose and electrolyte status must be closely monitored during administration. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, so this medication should be used more cautiously. Overdosage may lead to hyperglycemia or diabetic symptoms, necessitating appropriate treatment such as insulin administration. Subcutaneous injections should be avoided as they can cause local irritation and circulatory failure; use immediately after opening, and dispose of any remaining medication. To reduce the risk of infection during injections, cleanliness must be maintained, and potential interactions and adverse reactions should be thoroughly considered when mixing medications. Additionally, to avoid air embolism risks, continuous connection of containers should be avoided, and warming to body temperature is safe when storing in a refrigerator.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air, ideally at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. This storage method helps maintain the medication's effectiveness and prevents degradation.
