Improvement of gastric ulcers and upper gastrointestinal bleeding (peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers)
This medication is used to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and various lesions occurring in the gastric mucosa. It is effective during acute exacerbation of gastritis when taken orally and improves conditions of upper gastrointestinal bleeding such as hemorrhagic gastritis or acute stress ulcers. Additionally, it is utilized in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. When administered as an injection, it is primarily used for upper gastrointestinal bleeding, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and as a pre-anesthetic medication. This drug helps to recover damage to the gastric and digestive tract mucosa and prevent bleeding, improving health.
1. For gastric, duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: 20 mg once, twice a day (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) for oral administration, or 40 mg once a day (at bedtime) for oral administration. 2. For acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis: 10 mg once, twice a day (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) for oral administration, or 20 mg once a day (at bedtime).
This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to any of its components or similar drugs. In addition, it contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders. Patients with a history of drug allergies, impaired kidney function, heart disease, liver dysfunction, and the elderly should use this medication with caution. Especially in cases of poor kidney function, drug concentrations may increase, so dose adjustment or interval adjustment is necessary. During the use of this medication, serious side effects such as allergic reactions, blood disorders, skin diseases, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, heart side effects, kidney and lung diseases may occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored. If severe allergic reactions or skin rashes, changes in consciousness, convulsions, arrhythmias appear, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. It is important to conduct regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests during treatment to check for abnormalities. Only the minimum dosage necessary for therapeutic effect should be used, and if no effect is observed, other treatment methods should be considered. Patients undergoing hemodialysis should be cautious as the effectiveness of this medication may be diminished when used with phosphate binders. Very rarely, serious side effects such as arrhythmias or consciousness disturbances, convulsions may occur, so high-risk patients should be particularly cautious. This medication can interact with other drugs, so especially when taking certain antifungal agents or anticancer drugs, notify healthcare professionals. The elderly are at risk of increased drug concentrations due to decreased kidney function, so it should be used cautiously by reducing the dose or increasing the administration interval. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication after carefully considering its risks and benefits, and breastfeeding women should preferably discontinue breastfeeding as the drug can be transmitted through breast milk. The safety of this medication in children has not been sufficiently established, so its use is not recommended. Finally, this medication may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should only be used after confirming that it is not gastric cancer.
Shock, hypersensitivity (anaphylaxis, dyspnea, generalized flushing, angioedema, etc.), urticaria, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell syndrome, liver dysfunction, jaundice, rhabdomyolysis, QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, altered consciousness, convulsions, interstitial nephritis, acute renal failure, interstitial pneumonia, heart failure
