Relief of severe and moderate acute and chronic pain (such as cancer, pain after diagnosis and surgery, etc.)
This medication is used to relieve severe and moderate acute and chronic pain, particularly pain caused by various conditions such as cancer and pain occurring after surgical procedures or during diagnostic processes.
As Tramadol Hydrochloride, take 50 mg orally, and if pain relief is inadequate 30-60 minutes later, an additional 50 mg may be taken. The maximum daily dosage is 400 mg. Elderly patients under 75 years do not need dosage adjustment, while those over 75 should adjust the dosing interval. Patients with renal dysfunction or liver dysfunction should consider extending the dosing interval.
This medication has a high risk of seizures if the recommended dose is exceeded. It should be used with caution, especially in patients at risk of seizures. Long-term use may result in psychological and physical dependence, so it should be administered for a short duration under strict management to patients at risk of drug abuse. Taking this medication with alcohol or drugs that depress the central nervous system can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, coma, or death, so co-administration should be avoided or done with extreme caution. Particularly, individuals genetically predisposed to metabolize drugs quickly may experience increased concentrations of the active ingredient, raising the risk of respiratory depression, so caution is warranted. It is safer not to administer this medication to children under 12 years old and teenagers under 18 who have undergone certain surgeries. This medication should not be used in patients with acute alcohol intoxication, central nervous system drug intoxication, severe respiratory depression, or serious liver or kidney dysfunction. When using this medication, drowsiness and dizziness may occur, so activities such as driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. It is also advisable not to use it for mild pain. This medication may interact with other drugs; thus, especially when used with central nervous system depressants, antidepressants, anticoagulants and others, dosage adjustments should be made according to a physician's instruction and careful monitoring should be undertaken. It is advisable not to use this medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as it may be transferred to breast milk and pose risks such as respiratory depression in infants. In case of overdose, serious respiratory depression and seizures may occur, and immediate emergency treatment is necessary, with naloxone available as an antidote. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container for safety.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
