Precautions

This drug may have glass fragments when using ampoules, so special caution should be taken to ensure glass fragments do not enter the solution, especially when used in children or the elderly. When administering this drug intravenously, do not use the same infusion device with the antibiotic ceftriaxone, as precipitates may form. It must be administered using a separate infusion line or after thorough cleansing. This drug should not be administered to patients on cardiac glycosides, those with a history of hypercalcemia, kidney stones, or specific kidney diseases. Additionally, caution is needed for patients with allergies to this drug or its components, patients with severe renal failure, children under 18 years, and neonates. Particularly in neonates, co-administration with ceftriaxone should be avoided. Careful administration is required for patients taking active vitamin D preparations or with heart, thyroid, or circulatory diseases. Using this drug may cause side effects such as indigestion, nausea, vomiting, constipation, drop in blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, hypercalcemia, etc. If unusual symptoms occur, consult with medical personnel immediately. For prolonged use, regular monitoring of calcium levels in the blood and urine is necessary to check for hypercalcemia, and the administration rate should be slow to minimize the risk of cardiac-related side effects. This drug may interact with certain other medications, so caution is needed when taken with cardiac glycosides, muscle relaxants, certain antibiotics, uterotonics, potassium-sparing diuretics, etc. During pregnancy, use only when absolutely necessary, and elderly individuals should be administered with extra caution due to decreased bodily functions. In cases of overdose, severe symptoms such as vomiting, muscle weakness, arrhythmias, etc., may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. In this situation, medication administration should be halted, and appropriate measures taken. This drug is for intravenous use only, and care should be taken to prevent the drug from leaking around the injection site. It should not be administered to children via the scalp vein. Also, do not use syringes disinfected with ethanol or products with precipitates, as intramuscular injections can cause pain and inflammation and should be avoided. Finally, this drug should be stored out of reach of children, in a safe place.
