Dosage
1. Wilson's disease As d-penicillamine, orally administer 1g daily in 4 divided doses (30 minutes before meals or 3 hours after dinner). 2. Lead or mercury poisoning As d-penicillamine, administer 250mg once, 3-4 times a day (30 minutes before meals or 3 hours after dinner). 3. Cystinuria, cystine nephrolithiasis As d-penicillamine, administer 1-4g daily in 4 divided doses (30 minutes before meals or 3 hours after dinner)
Precautions
This medication may cause serious blood disorders, so special caution should be taken during use. It should not be administered to specific patient groups, such as patients on gold preparations, those with a history of blood disorders or kidney disorders, patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, and children in their growth phase. Additionally, pregnant or breastfeeding women, the elderly, patients immediately after surgery, and those with decreased bone marrow function should be carefully administered only when absolutely necessary. This medication may cause various adverse reactions, including decreased blood cells, pneumonia, kidney function abnormalities, skin rash, and liver function impairment. If any symptoms appear, usage should be immediately stopped and a healthcare professional consulted. Routine blood tests, kidney function tests, and liver function tests should be regularly conducted before and during administration to detect any abnormal signs early and respond appropriately. Since interactions may occur with other medications, especially when used in combination with gold preparations, immunosuppressants, iron preparations, antacids, and zinc preparations, it is essential to inform healthcare professionals.
