It also alleviates symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is effectively used for habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal transit disorders such as constipation or diarrhea, promoting gastrointestinal health. In other words, this medication systematically treats various gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms, helping patients maintain a comfortable daily life.

How to take

Adult dose

As trimethobenzamide maleate, take 100-200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose; therefore, individuals with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid taking it. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal-related side effects may occur, including constipation, diarrhea, noises in the intestines, nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders, dry mouth, and a numb feeling in the mouth, though they are rare. There may also be rare instances of cardiovascular issues, such as symptoms of heart palpitations. Neurological and psychiatric symptoms, such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches, may also occur rarely. Regarding liver function, liver enzyme levels may occasionally rise, warranting caution. If any hypersensitivity reactions, such as skin rash, occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been fully established; therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take it if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Women who are breastfeeding should also avoid this medication if possible, and if it must be taken, it is advisable to stop breastfeeding.
