Precautions

This medication should not be used on areas with skin infections caused by bacteria or viruses. It can worsen infections in patients suffering from infections such as tuberculosis, syphilis, herpes zoster, herpes simplex, and chickenpox. It should not be used by individuals with a hypersensitivity to this medication or a history of allergies. Patients with a perforated eardrum or eczematous otitis externa may experience delayed wound healing and increased risk of infection from using this medication. It is not to be used on patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite as it may impede tissue recovery and worsen infections. Patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea should not use this medication. It is advisable not to apply this medication to the early stages of skin inflammation or around the eyes. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should use this medication cautiously and only after consulting a doctor if necessary. Infants and children should use this medication under the supervision of a guardian, and caution is advised if there is an allergy to propylene glycol. Using this medication over a long period or on large areas may lead to side effects such as skin infections, irritation, rashes, itching, pigmentation changes, and skin atrophy. Particularly with long-term use, steroid acne or skin changes may occur, so if symptoms arise, usage should be stopped and another medication should be considered. Using in large amounts or with occlusive dressings may lead to issues such as pituitary or adrenal function suppression, increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, and cataracts, which requires careful attention. Concurrent use with warfarin, which affects blood clotting, may increase bleeding risks, so blood tests should be conducted to monitor conditions. It should not be used within the first three months of pregnancy and must be consulted with a physician if used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. In children, prolonged use or occlusive dressing should be approached carefully to avoid growth retardation. Elderly individuals should start with the minimum dose considering renal, hepatic, and cardiac function decline. This medication should not be applied directly to the eyes and should be stored in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. To maintain quality, do not transfer to another container and store away from direct sunlight.
