This medication helps alleviate symptoms of gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis, duodenitis, and ulcers, including abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting. It also improves abdominal discomfort and pain caused by irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is also used to treat habitual vomiting and non-infectious intestinal passage disorders causing constipation and diarrhea. It effectively alleviates the symptoms of various gastrointestinal diseases, improving digestive health.

How to take

Adult dose

Trimethobenzamide maleate 100-200mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication may affect the gastrointestinal system and can rarely cause constipation, diarrhea, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders, dry mouth, and a feeling of numbness in the mouth. It may also affect the cardiovascular system, leading to rare symptoms of rapid heartbeat. Neurological side effects may include rare occurrences of fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches, so caution is advised. It can affect liver function, and rare reports indicate elevations in liver function test values such as GOT and GPT. Allergic reactions may produce rare skin rashes, and if such symptoms occur, medication should be discontinued immediately. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been fully established.
