Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. The rhubarb component can cause uterine contractions or affect pelvic organs, leading to risks of miscarriage or preterm birth. Additionally, nursing mothers should not take this medication because certain components in rhubarb can be transmitted through breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use it. It is advisable not to take other anti-diarrheal medications while using this medicine, as drug interactions or side effects may occur. Individuals with hypertension, heart or kidney diseases, or edema should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Elderly patients, those taking other medications, or individuals with diarrhea or loose stools should also exercise caution. People with weak stomachs or symptoms of appetite loss, nausea, or vomiting should consult professionals before taking this medication. Those who are weak after illness, sweat excessively, have a history of cardiovascular disease, or are patients with urinary disorders or hyperthyroidism should be cautious. Those who have previously experienced allergic reactions (rashes, redness, itching, etc.) to this medication should consult before taking it. Diabetics should be cautious as the ephedra component may raise blood sugar levels. If unusual symptoms occur during use, such as swelling in the face or extremities, increased blood pressure, headaches, fatigue, muscle cramps, indigestion, skin rashes, insomnia, rapid heartbeat, urinary disorders, or liver function abnormalities, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If symptoms do not improve after using this medication for constipation for more than one week, discontinue use and consult a professional. Long-term use of this medication is not recommended, and if necessary for extended periods, professional guidance should be followed. Stimulant laxatives can develop tolerance with prolonged use and may worsen constipation, so it is advisable not to use for more than one week continuously. Dosage and administration must be strictly followed, and the laxative effect of rhubarb can vary among individuals, so caution is necessary. When taking in combination with other herbal preparations, avoid duplication of rhubarb components, and exercise caution when used with ephedra, MAO inhibitors, thyroid medications, catecholamine agents, or xanthine agents as side effects may easily occur. When taken with potassium-containing preparations, glycyrrhiza-containing preparations, or diuretics, there is a risk of hypokalemia or myopathy, so caution is warranted. When administering to children, thorough guidance and supervision from a guardian are necessary. This medication should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and humidity, out of reach of children. Furthermore, do not transfer the medication from its original container to another container, and always store it tightly closed in its original container.
