Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. The rhubarb component contained in this medication may cause uterine contractions or affect blood circulation in pelvic organs, posing a risk of miscarriage or preterm labor. Furthermore, breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication. The anthraquinone derivatives contained in rhubarb can pass into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. Infants under 3 months of age should not use this medication. Patients with genetic metabolic disorders such as lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid this medication due to the presence of lactose. During the use of this medication, do not take it simultaneously with other diarrhea-inducing medications. Patients with hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, or edema, as well as the elderly, should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Additionally, it is necessary for individuals taking other medications, those experiencing diarrhea symptoms, those with weak stomachs, individuals with loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting symptoms, or those with low physical strength, including children, to consult a specialist before use. If symptoms such as facial or limb swelling or elevated blood pressure occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a specialist. If symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue, or cramps appear, stop taking the medication and consult a healthcare professional. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea worsen, or if symptoms like coughing, difficulty breathing, or fever occur, stop taking this medication immediately and consult a specialist. If skin rashes, itching, or unexpected bleeding occurs, discontinue use immediately. If symptoms do not improve after taking this medication for more than one month for constipation treatment or more than 5-6 days for other conditions, consult a specialist. It is a principle not to use this medication for long periods; if necessary to use for a prolonged time, consult a specialist. Stimulant laxatives can develop tolerance and worsen constipation with long-term use; therefore, they should not be taken for more than one week. Always adhere to the prescribed dosage and frequency, as the effects of rhubarb may vary between individuals and require caution. Caution must be exercised when taking this medication together with potassium-containing agents, licorice-containing agents, or certain diuretics due to the risk of hypokalemia or myopathy. When taking this medication alongside other traditional herbal medicines, ensure that the same herbal components are not duplicated. Store this medication in a cool, dry place avoiding direct sunlight, and ensure it is tightly sealed after use. Keep this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer medications from their original containers to other containers.
