Precautions

This medication is in ampoule form and should be handled carefully when breaking the glass vial for use. Since glass fragments can mix with the injection solution, extra caution is needed when administering to particularly children or the elderly. This drug should not be used in patients with glaucoma or urinary disorders due to prostatic hyperplasia, in patients with paralytic ileus, those allergic to this medication, and in asthma patients. Particular caution should be exercised in patients with prostatic hyperplasia, very weak hearts, ulcerative colitis, excessively active thyroid function, those in hot environments, and patients over 40 years of age when using this medication. Using this medication may cause pupil dilation and difficulty in accommodation, potentially worsening glaucoma or causing blurred vision. Neurologic symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and memory impairment may also occur. Gastrointestinal side effects can include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, and constipation. Cardiovascular and respiratory issues such as tachycardia or shortness of breath may also arise. Allergic reactions may manifest as skin rashes; in severe cases, dangerous situations like shock or anaphylaxis can occur, so immediate discontinuation and appropriate treatment should be sought if symptoms appear. This medication may cause difficulties in urination and face flushing as well. During the use of this medication, blurred vision may occur due to accommodation disturbances and pupil dilation, so it is advisable to avoid activities that pose risks, such as driving or operating machinery. Care must be taken when used concurrently with other medications. Especially when combined with drugs with anticholinergic effects, antidepressants, antihistamines, or certain antibiotics, the effectiveness of this medication may be increased. Moreover, when used with cardiac glycosides, the risk of cardiac toxicity may increase, so caution is needed. This medication may interfere with the action of certain cholinergic agents. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid this medication due to the risk of fetal arrhythmias. Breastfeeding women should also refrain from using this medication, as it may decrease milk secretion. There is insufficient experience and safety data regarding the use in children. Elderly patients may be more susceptible to side effects such as glaucoma, memory impairment, dry mouth, urinary difficulties, and constipation, so care should be taken during use.
