After being told during a health checkup that my blood pressure was a little high, I didn’t think much of it. But recently, I started having frequent headaches and feeling extremely tired, so I visited a local internal medicine clinic. When I first arrived, they measured my blood pressure, and I was startled to see that it was even higher than what I had measured at home. When I went into the doctor’s office, the doctor carefully asked about my usual lifestyle habits and family medical history. In addition to a simple blood pressure check, the doctor suggested doing an electrocardiogram and some basic blood tests to check my kidney function and cholesterol levels. The tests weren’t complicated, and the doctor explained everything so calmly that I felt reassured. Based on the test results, the doctor suggested that instead of starting medication right away, I should work on improving my lifestyle and monitor my condition for a while. The doctor emphasized the importance of a low-sodium diet and light aerobic exercise, and gave me a blood pressure log, instructing me to measure my blood pressure every morning and evening and bring the records to my next appointment. I was scared when I heard that I might need to take hypertension medication or start managing my condition, but the doctor didn’t push medication right away. Instead, the doctor patiently explained ways to stabilize my blood pressure over the long term, which made me feel much more at ease.

Usually I’m fine, but after lunch, I felt a tight discomfort in my upper stomach that didn’t go away even after burping, so I visited the internal medicine department. After checking in, I filled out a questionnaire detailing my recent medications, alcohol consumption, and when the symptoms worsened. In the examination room, the doctor pressed on my abdomen to check for tenderness and listened to my bowel sounds with a stethoscope. He asked me when the symptoms started, whether I felt discomfort when hungry, and if I often ate late-night snacks or drank coffee, one by one. To check for gastritis, he explained that we could consider an upper endoscopy if necessary, but for now, we decided to monitor my condition while taking medication. Before the prescription was written, he explained what each medication was for in terms of alleviating symptoms and advised me to eat small amounts slowly and to avoid late-night foods. After payment, I immediately picked up the medications from the pharmacy and started taking them. A few days later, I noticed a significant reduction in post-meal bloating and tightness in my upper stomach. The thorough explanations given for any follow-up appointments also eased my vague anxiety, and overall, I was left with the impression that the entire consultation process was very meticulous.
