Recently, every time I drank ice cream or cold water, a particular molar would throb, and I felt I could no longer put it off, so I went to the dentist. The doctor found that, as I expected, a cavity that had developed a long time ago had progressed quite close to the nerve. Fortunately, it was discovered just before needing a root canal, and the doctor recommended removing the cavity and filling it with an inlay. The anesthesia shot, which I was most worried about, turned out to be just a little sting, and thanks to the effective numbing, all I heard during the drilling was a 'buzzing' sound, with no pain at all. It took about 30 minutes to completely remove the cavity, take an impression, and fill it temporarily. A week later, when they bonded the custom-made inlay, it was done quickly and without discomfort.
