The dizziness caused by Ménière’s disease came all at once with autonomic nervous system dysfunction, anxiety, and insomnia, making everyday life extremely difficult. I came in feeling like I had to grasp at even the slightest hope, was prescribed medication, and started taking it. During the first two weeks, I didn’t notice much of an effect, so I was anxious and wondered, “Will I really get better?” But now that I’ve been taking the medication consistently for two months, my symptoms have improved so much. The distressing dizziness that used to come so often no longer occurs, and the amount of sleep I get has increased from only 4–5 hours to 5–6 hours. These days, I do have somewhat more dreams, but overall I’m sleeping much better, and my quality of life has improved greatly. I hope this gives hope to others who are struggling with Ménière’s disease and autonomic nervous system symptoms like I am.
