Choi & Park Internal Medicine and Surgery Clinic

Since I need to get my health screening done this year, I started with a breast cancer checkup. I’ve been getting screened at Choi & Park Internal Medicine every two years, and this time I had the mammogram that’s part of the national screening program. They started with the basic health checks, and they also asked pretty carefully whether anyone in my family had had breast cancer, including my family history. They told me that a breast cancer screening involves two types of exams: a mammogram and an ultrasound. I was going to have the ultrasound done at the same time, but since this hospital can handle everything from screenings to surgery, there were a lot of patients waiting. They said that even if I made an appointment now, the earliest available time would be around September. So I had the mammogram first and said I would make another appointment afterward. All of the medical staff were very kind. Most of all, I liked that they told me, from a patient’s perspective, that I should definitely get a detailed breast ultrasound even if I didn’t have it done at this hospital. I’m waiting for the screening results now. After that, I’m planning to make an appointment for an ultrasound at this hospital as well.

I visited for internal medicine consultation on a weekday morning, and there were already many people. It was around 10:30, and I think I waited less than an hour. Since they also do health check-ups, if previous patients are undergoing endoscopy, you have to wait for that too. The hospital seems to be organized. When you enter, you take a number and wait for your turn like in a bank before you can register at the checkout. Despite the crowd, it isn't noisy. I noticed there's also a place for breast cancer screenings nearby. The hospital is quite sizable. They say there are inpatient rooms on the 4th floor. If you're just going for a simple consultation and are in a hurry, it might be a bit challenging!
