I went to the Neurology department for a consultation. My dizziness has been pretty severe because of my low blood pressure, and when I get up after lying down, my vision turns white, so I thought something was seriously wrong. But after talking with the doctor, I felt relieved to hear that more people than I expected experience the same symptoms. My basal metabolic rate is also high, so I tire out easily, and since I don’t eat much, I can’t gain weight either. I’m worried because I’m quite thin, but I hope things gradually get better. For now, I got a prescription for the same medication as before, and this time I’m supposed to take it only twice a day. I should also try taking protein or supplements to build strength while going to the gym. By the time I stop taking this medicine, I hope to be able to visit the hospital with a strong, healthy body.

Since yesterday, I've had a headache and stomachache, so I looked for a hospital close to home. I completed blood tests and an ultrasound to see if it was gastroenteritis or appendicitis, and then went to the injection room for IV fluids. They placed the IV without any pain and even reminded me to drink water since my mouth would be dry. Everyone is so kind here. While waiting for the test results, I had a jelly, but the nurse scolded me for eating jelly when my stomach hurts, which made me feel a bit embarrassed, but I was busy hiding the jelly in my pocket with a smile. Fortunately, the test results showed it was gastroenteritis, and I got a prescription for three days' worth of medication, so I need to rest up. There are so many foods I want to eat, but the doctor said I should stick to porridge and soft foods, so I'm trying to hold back.

I seem to visit the hospital a couple of times a year. I always see Dr. Seo Tae-jin at Internal Medicine Department 3 for consultations. My stomach and intestines became very weak, and I even developed a perforation because of drinking, so I remember going through an incredibly difficult time. Today, I went to Internal Medicine again because of enteritis. The doctor was still kind and smiling. Since I always have intestinal problems, as soon as I entered the examination room, he had me lie down on the bed and pressed around in different places to check whether it was appendicitis or enteritis and whether my kidneys were okay. Then I went up to the second floor for an ultrasound. Since the hospital is somewhat large, I thought elderly patients might need someone to accompany them. The ultrasound showed nothing particularly abnormal, so I just received IV fluids and rested comfortably on the sixth floor.

I received a call from the school health office and had to rush back again. My older daughter, who has symptoms of vasovagal syncope, had been complaining of dizziness since the morning. She had gone to school, but in the end, we had to go to the hospital again. I was unsure whether to go to internal medicine, but I thought it would be best to refer her to a neurologist. We took the elevator to the second floor and had a consultation with the neurologist. Because she had fainted before, the doctor mentioned that her condition can worsen, and since her sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are still developing, dizziness and vomiting could happen frequently. I’m worried, but we received a prescription and I hope she feels better after taking the medication.

From Sunday morning, I felt discomfort and swelling in my throat. It hurt to swallow and even when eating, I felt this painful sensation, so I went to the hospital on Monday morning. Surprisingly, it was not busy for a Monday. I was shocked at how quickly my turn came up. Usually, you have to wait at least 2 hours to see the doctor, but as soon as I sat in the waiting area outside the consultation room, my name was called, and I went right in. They said I didn't even need antibiotics, so I just got a shot in the butt and a prescription for 3 days' worth of medication. I was so relieved not to have to wait long that I walked to the injection room with a light step, and the shot didn't hurt at all, so even though my throat still hurts, my mind feels so much lighter!

I donated blood this week, and they told me my cholesterol levels were really high and suggested I get a prescription. I searched for the closest internal medicine clinic, and I think because I went in the late afternoon, it was pretty empty and quiet. It had been a while since I'd had a checkup, so I felt a bit scared and was sweating a little. When I said I wanted a prescription for cholesterol medication, they said I needed to have my blood pressure checked. My blood pressure came back a bit high. I walked into the consultation room thinking 'a bit high' and was told I needed to have a fasting blood test to make an accurate diagnosis. I just had a consultation and then got up to leave. They noted the numbers from when I donated blood, but since that wasn't precise, they told me to come in the morning for testing.
