The effects of short evening exercise on sleep

Chair squats, calf raises, standing knee lifts, and other simple exercises that do not require equipment or a large space and can be done while watching TV are said to improve sleep quality when performed consistently for 3 minutes every 30 minutes in the evening.

 

One reason to avoid high-intensity exercise before bed is that it raises body temperature and heart rate, which can decrease sleep quality. Therefore, it is recommended to do light exercise for a short period.

 

With the recent hot nights and high humidity making it hard to sleep, I think I'll start with some light stretching from today.
