A review of treatment received at Yangi ENT Clinic for otitis externa - Experience of rapid relief

Recently, my otitis externa symptoms worsened, so I visited an ENT clinic. The mild itching and foreign body sensation inside my ear gradually developed into pain, and the persistent feeling of water remaining in my ear after showering also led me to believe I needed medical attention.
At the clinic, after examining the external auditory canal under a microscope, I was told that the skin was red, swollen, and inflamed. I was also advised that using a cotton swab or excessive irritation could be the cause. A simple cleaning procedure was performed, which didn't take long.
The prescription was a single steroid ointment. I was instructed to apply a thin layer with a cotton swab, and to avoid water getting into my ears and using earphones for a few days. After using the ointment, the pain and foreign body sensation gradually began to subside.
This experience confirmed that the external auditory canal can easily become inflamed even with minor irritation, so it's important to seek prompt medical attention when symptoms appear. Overall, the treatment process was simple and the explanations were clear and helpful.
