Are water warts on the skin easy to remove?

This looks like a blister-like lesion on my finger that keeps coming back in the same shape even after I peel it off, so I think it might be a wart. It hasn't spread sideways yet. I'm a bit worried that it might spread if I wait longer. I've heard that laser treatment for warts can cause recurrence and be painful, so I'm wondering if anyone has tried wart treatment before. I also wonder if it can be treated with ointments or similar remedies.
